The scene is located in Haidian District, China. The tunnel's interior surfaces, including the barrel-vaulted ceiling and vertical walls, exhibit significant signs of wear, discoloration, and peeling paint or plaster, revealing a rough, textured substratum. Darker patches, consistent with dampness or mold, are visible on both the walls and ceiling. The floor of the tunnel is paved with grey, rectangular stone slabs.
