This is a full frontal, eye-level, close-up shot of the entrance to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The cathedral is a grand Neo-Byzantine structure, painted entirely white. The focal point is the large, gray, double-leafed door, set within a recessed archway and flanked by massive white columns. Above the door, the facade features ornate architectural details, including a frieze with laurel wreaths and a triangular pediment adorned with a stylized sunburst motif. Several more columns extend upwards, supporting the upper levels of the cathedral, which feature arched windows. The sky above is overcast and pale.
