A boat approaches a canal lock. The boat is white with some black trim and appears to be moving forward into the lock. The lock has high concrete walls on either side with two large square towers at the entrance, one on each side. A bridge spans the canal between the towers. The water in the canal is dark brown. The sky is a clear, bright blue with a few wispy clouds. Trees can be seen in the distance beyond the lock. The overall impression is one of approaching a large engineering structure.
