Two identical concrete control towers, each with a blue stripe and the red Cyrillic letter "б" (meaning 'b'), stand symmetrically on either side of the lock entrance. Barbed wire fencing runs along the top of the concrete walls. The lock itself is a massive concrete structure with a wide, wet, concrete deck in the foreground, marked with numerous circular hatches. Further in, the lock chamber walls are visible, with a green light illuminated on the right wall. The sky is overcast, and the overall impression is one of industrial infrastructure and overcast weather.
