A herd of approximately 18 cattle and calves is observed grazing in an open field located in Igbo Ijaiye, Nigeria, under an overcast, light grey sky. The animals display a range of coat colors, including white, various shades of brown and reddish-brown, black, and speckled grey-and-white patterns. Most cattle have their heads lowered, actively consuming the sparse green grass and small shrubs that punctuate the predominantly dry, dark earth. Scattered dry branches and organic debris are present on the ground. The immediate environment consists of uneven, mostly barren soil with intermittent patches of low green vegetation. The background features a line of scattered trees and denser brush, some with full green foliage and others appearing more skeletal.
