A small, crudely sculpted human-like figure is affixed to the severely deteriorated facade of an old building, consistent with the architectural style found in central Saint Petersburg, Russia
Short TermA small, crudely sculpted human-like figure is affixed to the severely deteriorated facade of an old building, consistent with the architectural style found in central Saint Petersburg, Russia. The figure, approximately 30-40 centimeters in height, features a pale, un-detailed head, a pink upper body adorned with several small, irregular green-yellow embellishments, and blue and white vertically striped lower body, resembling trousers. A prominent, ruffled blue collar encircles its neck. Both arms are extended horizontally, forming an outstretched posture, with hands pointing outwards. A small, dark circular opening or pipe is visible at the lower right leg of the figure. The figure is mounted directly onto a textured, crumbling wall surface, which displays extensive peeling and cracking of its original yellow-beige paint, revealing underlying plaster and masonry. To the left of the figure, a vertical fluted architectural element, also in a state of advanced wear, is present. Directly above the figure, a rectangular grey metal plate is bolted into the wall; one bolt head exhibits significant rust accumulation around its base. Below the figure's left arm, a small, white, oval-shaped plaque is embedded into the wall, bearing the inscription "@berezaaa", identifying the artist Denis Bereza, known for placing similar "little men" (человечки) street art pieces throughout Saint Petersburg. Further to the left and below this plaque, a bent, metallic, U-shaped bracket is also attached to the wall. The scene is illuminated by direct sunlight, casting distinct shadows from the figure, the metal plate, and the bracket onto the weathered wall surface.
