This image depicts a multi-level traditional Chinese architectural complex situated on a hillside in Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, China, under an overcast sky. The upper portion of the scene features a dark, two-tiered building with traditional curved, tiled roofs. Its walls appear to be constructed of dark wood. A balcony on the second level is adorned with numerous red fabric strips tied to its balustrade. Two circular red Chinese lanterns hang from the eaves of the second story, and a gilded, horn-shaped decorative element is visible above an opening on the same level. Below the main building, a grey stone wall is intricately carved in high relief, depicting stylized rock formations and clouds. Prominently featured on the right side of this carved wall is a large, dark grey relief sculpture of a muscular, bearded figure with a horned headpiece, wielding an axe.
