A small hoverfly with black and yellow stripes is perched on the stamen of the poppy in the center-left. The center of this poppy, and the one to its right, show bright pink interiors with dark purple stamen tipped with yellow anthers. The poppy petals are delicate and crinkled. The background is a soft focus of green foliage and other developing poppy buds, one of which is visible in the upper center. The lighting is bright and natural. This scene is not identifiable as being in Feodosia, Ukraine.
