The image depicts the monumental Roman gate in the ancient city of Anavarza, located in the Kozan district of Adana Province, Turkey
Short TermThe image depicts the monumental Roman gate in the ancient city of Anavarza, located in the Kozan district of Adana Province, Turkey. The gate, constructed from weathered stone blocks, features three arches, the central and largest one framing a view of a distant rocky mountain and more ruins. Fluted columns support the entablature of the gate, parts of which have collapsed, exposing the rough stone fill beneath. The ground in front of the gate is a mix of dirt and scattered stones, with sparse, dry vegetation. The sky is a clear, bright blue. No people are visible in the scene. The overall impression is one of ancient grandeur and decay under a strong, clear sky.
