The basin's textured, weathered concrete rim, composed of aggregate, is visible in the foreground and extends along the right side. Within the basin, multiple Nymphaeaceae (water lily or lotus) plants are present. Several green, circular leaves float on the water's surface; some are intact, while others exhibit significant degradation, exposing their skeletal vein patterns. Two distinct lotus buds are visible: one upright, closed, and reddish-brown, emerging from the water in the upper right quadrant, with its reflection clearly visible beneath it. The second bud, predominantly yellow with pink tips, rests partially submerged against the basin's rim in the lower left. The water's surface prominently reflects the surrounding environment, including various green trees and foliage, particularly in the upper right and central portions, and a faint reflection of a light-colored structural element in the upper left. The ground immediately surrounding the basin is covered with green grass and scattered leaf litter.
