Momentdeep excavation pit, likely a quarry or construction site, in Kuru, Nigeria. Reddish-brown earth and rocks form the steep walls of the pit, with layers of sediment visible in the strata. At the bottom of the pit, a pool of murky, light-green water has accumulated. Two individuals are present. One person, wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts, is walking along the edge of the pit. Another person is partially visible further up, near some machinery. Several bright blue hoses snake down into the pit, suggesting a water pumping or supply operation. Small pieces of debris, including what appear to be plastic bottles, are scattered within the pit and on the surrounding terrain. The foreground is dominated by a slope of loose, gravelly soil.
