The water's surface is largely covered by numerous large, round green lily pads (Nymphaeaceae). Two water lilies are in bloom: one prominent pink and yellow flower with a distinct central yellow stamen cluster is positioned in the lower center, and a smaller, paler pink flower is visible in the upper right quadrant. The water, visible in gaps between the pads, appears dark and contains some submerged aquatic growth. Surrounding the pond are various green terrestrial plants: large, cordate leaves with visible venation occupy the upper left, dense shrubbery with smaller leaves is in the upper right background, and a branch bearing paired ovate leaves and small yellow buds extends into the lower right foreground. Sunlight creates strong highlights on the foliage and casts distinct shadows on several lily pads. No individuals or fauna are present.
