This is a close-up, high-angle photograph of a section of a honeycomb. The honeycomb is composed of hexagonal cells made of beeswax, with a reddish-brown hue. Many of the cells are filled with a translucent, golden liquid, presumably honey. Three bees are visible in the image. One bee is in the upper right quadrant, positioned on top of the honeycomb. Another bee is in the lower left quadrant, also on the honeycomb. A third bee is partially visible in the upper left corner, with only its head and thorax showing.
