The image depicts a sunset over the Baltic Sea, viewed from a coastal promenade in Tallinn, Estonia
Short TermThe image depicts a sunset over the Baltic Sea, viewed from a coastal promenade in Tallinn, Estonia. The upper portion of the sky is a desaturated blue-grey, transitioning to a vibrant golden orange and deep orange at the horizon. A thin, white contrail extends diagonally from the upper-left to the mid-right. Two circular, greenish-yellow lens flares are present in the mid-left sky, with a faint vertical light streak above them. The sun, a brilliant yellow-orange orb, is positioned low on the horizon, slightly right of the frame's center. It casts a strong, vertical reflection onto the calm sea surface directly below it. The sea mirrors the orange and golden hues of the sky, darkening towards the left. In the foreground, a wide, paved pier or promenade, dark and worn, extends from the lower-left towards the distant horizon, curving slightly right. A metal railing, reflecting the golden light, runs along its left edge. This structure widens into a rocky breakwater on the right, composed of dark, irregular stones and concrete blocks, with small waves lapping at its base. Several individuals are present, rendered in silhouette against the bright sunset. A small group stands on the distant section of the promenade near a dark signpost. Further right, on the rocky breakwater, two figures are seated or crouched, silhouetted against the sun's reflection. To their right, a single figure is seated on the edge of the rocky area. On the horizon, a large, dark silhouette of a ship or cargo vessel is visible slightly left of the sun. A smaller sailboat with a single mast is discernible further left and closer to the shore.
