The image presents a low-angle perspective from beneath a large, circular beach umbrella made of dried, light brown straw or thatch. The internal structure of the umbrella is visible, comprising concentric metal rings and radial metal spokes supporting the thatched material, which shows some wear and minor gaps allowing light to penetrate. A thick, dark wooden pole extends diagonally downwards from the center of the umbrella into the lower left quadrant of the frame. In the lower right foreground, a hand, appearing to be female, holds a transparent plastic cup containing a yellow-orange liquid, ice, and a black drinking straw. A light-colored nail polish is visible on the thumb. The arm extends upwards from the bottom right edge of the frame. The background reveals a clear, light blue sky occupying the upper right portion of the scene. Below the sky, a body of turquoise-blue water, likely a sea or ocean, stretches across the mid-ground. Several other straw beach umbrellas, similar in construction, are visible in the mid-distance on what appears to be a beach, extending towards the water. Some indistinct human figures are sparsely distributed on the beach near the water and beneath the distant umbrellas, appearing small due to the perspective.
