The foreground and midground consist of coarse, light-colored asphalt or gravel with embedded darker stones. A small, irregularly shaped puddle of murky water is visible in the midground, towards the left of the frame. One pigeon, primarily dark grey with lighter wing bars, is positioned with its head lowered into the puddle, appearing to drink. Its visible leg is orange-red. Another pigeon, similar in coloration, stands slightly behind and to the right of the drinking bird, observing. In the background, a concrete curb, possibly weathered and discolored with remnants of blue, runs horizontally.
