The image depicts a long, ascending outdoor staircase constructed from rough-hewn grey stone blocks, located in Vakkosalmi Park in Sortavala, Russia. The staircase features stone balustrade posts supporting dark metal handrails on both sides, with the steps extending into the upper distance and disappearing into dense foliage. Strong sunlight illuminates the scene, casting pronounced, angular shadows of the trees and railings across the steps. The staircase is bordered by abundant green vegetation, including numerous deciduous trees in full leaf and prominent lilac bushes displaying clusters of purple blossoms, particularly visible on the upper left and right. The sky above the tree canopy is clear and light blue. The lowest section of the staircase shows some minor grass and weed growth between the step joints and along the base. No people or animals are present.
