The background is dark, suggesting an interior setting or nighttime. The painting is identified by text below as "Распятие апостола Петра" (The Crucifixion of Apostle Peter), dated 1600-1601, with dimensions 230x175 cm, and located in the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo, Rome.
