The text on the monument reads in Ukrainian: "ВОНИ ЗАГИНУЛИ, АЛЕ ПЕРЕМОГЛИ, БО ВІДДАЛИ ЖИТТЯ ЗАРАДИ ПЕРЕМОГИ". This translates to "THEY DIED, BUT THEY WON, BECAUSE THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR VICTORY".
