In front of the tomb is a large wreath of red flowers and greenery with a white and red ribbon draped across it. Behind the soldiers is a black metal gate with ornate scrollwork. Through the gate, people are visible walking and a fountain is spraying water. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is part of the Saxon Palace complex. The tomb is surrounded by stone walls with engraved plaques. A large ornate lantern hangs from the arched ceiling above the tomb.
