The image captures an outdoor scene in Bakklandet, Oslo, Norway, featuring a bronze sculpture and a small dog
Short TermThe image captures an outdoor scene in Bakklandet, Oslo, Norway, featuring a bronze sculpture and a small dog. The central subject is a patinated bronze public art sculpture, known as "Dyrene på Bakklandet" (The Animals at Bakklandet), which functions as a drinking fountain. It comprises two geese positioned side-by-side on a lower platform, their heads facing left. To their right, a rooster stands on a higher pedestal, also facing left, with a small brass tap protruding from its base, directed towards a circular basin on the lower platform. The bronze exhibits a green-blue oxidation layer typical of aged copper alloys. The sculpture rests on a visible concrete base, which shows some minor cracking. Perched atop the back of one of the geese is a small, fluffy, reddish-orange Pomeranian dog. The dog is facing slightly left, towards the rooster, with its mouth open, tongue visible, and an expression often perceived as a "smile." Its tail is fanned out across the sculpture's surface. The immediate ground around the sculpture is covered in green grass interspersed with small white and yellow wildflowers. Behind the sculpture, a light-colored pathway, possibly gravel or paved, curves through the grassy area. The background consists of a dense wall of lush green deciduous trees. In the upper right quadrant of the image, a light pole with a small green and white rectangular sign is partially visible.
