Two large freshwater fish are observed within an aquarium environment in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria
MomentTwo large freshwater fish are observed within an aquarium environment in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. The primary subject on the left is an Oscar Cichlid (Astronotus ocellatus), displaying a variegated pattern of dark gray, bright orange, and olive-green scales across its body. Its eye is distinctly visible, featuring a prominent orange iris and a dark pupil. Its dorsal fin exhibits articulated rays. A second, larger fish, identified as a Pacu species, occupies the right side of the frame, positioned slightly behind the Oscar. This Pacu is uniformly gray-brown, with a robust, disc-shaped body. Its eye is visible, and its mouth is slightly agape, revealing a row of blunt, human-like teeth. Both fish are oriented towards the left side of the image, appearing to swim in parallel. The water in the aquarium shows suspended particulate matter. The tank's substrate consists of light-colored gravel and scattered rocks. Reflections of overhead white, rectangular lights are visible on the aquarium's glass, particularly over the Oscar's back and in front of the Pacu's head. No people are visible.
