A top-down shot depicts a brown ceramic plate of Sri Lankan cuisine, likely taken in or near the city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The plate contains a central mound of white rice topped with a gray, creamy sauce. Surrounding the rice are several different dishes, including what appears to be dark fried mushrooms, yellow curried potatoes, sauteed onions with red peppers, and a tofu-like cube. A few sprigs of parsley garnish the plate, and a couple of fried wonton-like snacks are placed on the bottom of the rice. The plate sits on a wooden surface, with part of a woven placemat or mat visible on the right edge. The earthy tones of the plate and food contrast with the bright white rice and yellow curries.
