ThermiGreece

The image, located in the city of Thermi, Greece, presents a close-up view of two white compound umbels, consistent with the inflorescence of Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota). One umbel is positioned in the upper center of the frame, while another, larger umbel is centered in the lower half. Both structures are densely packed with numerous small white florets. A dark, likely purplish, floret is visible at the center of the lower umbel. On the upper umbel, a bee-like insect with yellow and brown stripes is situated on the upper left side, and a smaller dark insect is near its center. A minute dark insect is also visible on the lower umbel, near its bottom-right edge. The main stems supporting the flowers are green and subtly textured. The background consists of a mix of wild vegetation. Green leafy plants are present throughout, interspersed with numerous dry, light-beige and brown grass stalks and seed heads, some appearing to be wild oats. The scene is illuminated by strong natural sunlight, casting subtle shadows and highlighting the white flowers against the varied green and brown foliage. No human presence or man-made objects are visible.
