close-up, overhead view of a large pile of broken mussel shells and dirt. A single, large mussel shell, mostly dark brown with patches of white, is prominent in the center of the frame. The surrounding ground is densely covered with smaller, fragmented mussel shells of varying shades of gray and white, mixed with soil. Small green shoots of grass are visible in several locations amongst the shells. To the right of the large shell, a thick, woody twig or root protrudes from the ground. The overall impression is one of a natural accumulation of detritus, possibly near a body of water, within the city of Sokil, Ukraine.
