The sun is high, casting bright light across the scene and causing a glare in the upper left quadrant of the sky. A faint, small white cloud is visible in the upper right. The left two-thirds of the image are dominated by tall, dark green coniferous trees, likely pines, with some lighter green deciduous trees interspersed. The trees form a dense canopy along the edge of a lake, which occupies the mid-ground and right side of the frame. The lake surface is deep blue with numerous small reflections, indicating sunlight on the water. The far shore of the lake is lined with a dense forest extending to the horizon. In the foreground and mid-ground, the terrain consists of vibrant green grass interspersed with patches of exposed, flat, grey rock. On the left side of the mid-ground, two tents are pitched: one prominent light green dome tent and, to its left, a partially visible tan or brown tent. A fragment of an orange object, possibly another tent or a piece of gear, is visible in the extreme bottom-left corner.
