The image displays a closed, heavily rusted metal gate, secured with a padlock, blocking access to a concrete pier extending into the sea in Shkorpilovtsi, Bulgaria
Short TermThe image displays a closed, heavily rusted metal gate, secured with a padlock, blocking access to a concrete pier extending into the sea in Shkorpilovtsi, Bulgaria. The gate consists of numerous vertical bars, some retaining remnants of white paint while others are completely corroded to a dark brown, supported by equally rusted horizontal cross-members. At the top left, a segment of barbed wire is visible. Two identical, circular security warning signs are affixed to a central horizontal bar of the gate. The signs feature Cyrillic text, with the most prominent phrases being "ОБЕКТ ПОД ОХРАНА" (Object Under Guard/Protection) at the top, and "СОД-ЕОН АД" (SOD-EON AD – likely a security company name) centrally. Beyond the gate, a long, straight concrete pier with low metal railings on both sides recedes towards the horizon. The calm, blue-green water of the sea stretches on either side of the pier, meeting a partly cloudy blue sky. Small, white rectangular objects, possibly utility or junction boxes, are discernible along the left railing of the pier. The immediate foreground shows a dark, textured ground surface, likely asphalt or worn concrete, with shadows of the gate bars cast upon it. No individuals or animals are present in the scene.
