The scene depicts an indoor exhibit area located in Lim Kundak, Nigeria
MomentThe scene depicts an indoor exhibit area located in Lim Kundak, Nigeria. A large, gnarled tree trunk, stripped of bark and split into multiple upright segments, serves as a central display element. From the upper left of the trunk hangs a large, light grey, folded shoulder bag, possibly made of leather or canvas. Below it, a smaller, darker brown bag is visible. To the upper right, a blue textile item, resembling a cap or small pouch, is suspended. Dark grey, textured garments and a lighter grey, quilted garment are draped over a horizontal wooden rod extending from the tree trunk. Multiple clusters of dark, braided cords and small attached objects, including a prominent reddish-brown coiled rope, hang along the central section of the tree. A white rectangular sign with black text, "Charms and amulets related to practices," is affixed to the tree. At the base of the tree, a collection of stacked, circular, textured objects (possibly rings or weights) and various metal implements are arranged on a gravel-like substrate. A section of fishing net is draped on the lower right portion of the tree's base. The background wall exhibits a yellowish, horizontally striated texture. On the left wall, several framed black-and-white photographs depicting animals, specifically elephants and primates, are displayed. Beneath these frames are two rectangular windows secured with white, ornate metal grilles. A long, reddish-brown wooden display case with a glass top extends from the left. Small, light-colored objects, possibly decorative skulls or figurines, are arranged on a shelf to the left of the display case. A rectangular exhibit sign with "POA" at its visible top is positioned above the display case. The ceiling contains multiple recessed spotlights. On the right-hand background wall, another window with a white grille is visible, along with flat, irregularly shaped objects and reflective metal bowls affixed to the wall. A dark brown wooden bench or display stand is partially visible in the far-right background. No human figures are present.
