deity statue inside a Hindu temple
Short Termdeity statue inside a Hindu temple. The statue is adorned with clothing, garlands, and jewelry. The statue may be of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity in Hinduism. A sign is visible at the top left, stating "ATTENTION: Photo and video Strictly Prohibited Inside the Garbha Gudi". Given the sign and ornate features, this photo likely originated in a Garbha Gudi, the innermost sanctum of a Hindu temple, inside of which resides the murti (idol or icon) of the deity. The sign prohibits photography, so this was taken in secret. I have no evidence to support that this image originated in the city of Bengaluru, India.
