This image depicts the interior of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris, France, specifically focusing on the main apse and altar area. The scene is dominated by a three-tiered vertical composition. At the top, a large arched stained-glass window features a central rosette design above four lancet panels. The lancets display four distinct figures: from left to right, a figure in blue and brown, a female figure in pink and purple, a figure in green and blue, and a figure in red and green. All figures appear to hold staffs or scrolls. Below the stained-glass window, a golden frieze bears the Latin inscription "DE QVA NATVS EST IESVS". Directly beneath this inscription, a large arched mural is visible. This mural portrays the Virgin Mary, dressed in red and blue, seated on a cloud and holding a nude infant Jesus. She is surrounded by numerous angels in flowing white and grey robes, depicted amidst clouds, with some looking towards Mary and Jesus and others looking downwards. At the bottom center, a white marble statue of the Madonna and Child stands on an ornate white marble altar. The Virgin Mary is depicted in flowing robes and a veil, cradling the infant Jesus. The altar is adorned with multiple white candles in golden holders, symmetrically arranged. Two prominent multi-branched golden candelabras with lit candles are positioned on either side of the altar, closer to the viewer. The surrounding walls and architectural elements are richly decorated with dark blue, gold, and brown patterns, featuring intricate geometric designs and ornate pilasters with gilded capitals. The overall lighting is subdued, highlighting the central artworks and the lit candles.
